August/September 2008 Newsletter Welcome
This newsletter is coming a bit late this time. My family has recently endured a rather huge loss with the death of my mother, Bevra Pomeroy, on May 11. Needless to say, my feet do not quite feel as though they are completely beneath me yet. Thank you to all who have supported me and my family through this. In this month’s article, we’ll look at Reframing, the Art of Shifting Perspectives. To get your mind started in that direction, here’s a quote from George Bernard Shaw: “Progress is impossible without change; All Good Wishes to You, Reframing, the Art of Shifting Perspectives The fortune cookie did not impress me. I was full, stuffed in fact, from having just finished some scrumptious sushi. I was going to toss the fortune until my dinner partner said, “It doesn’t just mean hunger like food hunger, you know. It could mean you will never hunger for love, or companionship.” “Oh,” I replied. As my brain expanded to accept this new idea, I tucked the innocuous looking piece of paper into my wallet. Later that evening, I told another friend the fortune cookie story. She said, “In Chinese culture, this speaks to having community support. When you enter a Chinese household, they will offer you food right away, to make you feel at home. It’s about not being alone or unsupported.” My reference for “You will never know hunger” has been nicely reframed. As Olvier Wendall Holmes observed: A mind stretched to a new idea, never goes back to its original dimensions. Happy expanding, everyone! Cost is $150 to have your constellation done, and $110 to participate without having your constellation done. Constellation Classes are a series of three evening classes that revolve around a particular topic. The first topic will focus on your relationship with food. Five Element Face Reading Corner Overview: The energy of the Fire element is fast and exciting with a huge capacity and desire for connection. A person with a lot of the Fire element is often the life of the party, desires a lot of attention and is often a great communicator because connection is so important to them. They can also be hurt quite easily because their hearts are so wanting to connect. They can be anxious and fickle. People with a lot of Fire element are often easy to pick out in a crowd - they’ll dress or act as if to say “Look at me! Come play with me!” If you, or someone you know, is interested in receiving a face reading, I am still looking for people to work with for the Face Reading Practitioner Training.
